How We Met
We met in South Korea. He was stationed there with the USAF and I was teaching English. We connected online but we immediately went out on a date, didn’t talk online much at all (I’m talking maybe 3 questions in total). Ended up getting dinner and hit it off immediately. We never stopped going out on dates after that ♥️
How They Asked
The red ribbon.
It was the day before our one year anniversary. We had to celebrate early because he had to work the next day so I got all dolled up and prepared a romantic dinner of us to enjoy. We had just moved into our new house so we didn’t have much furniture, only a big rug, and a TV. We played some music, danced in the middle of the rug, he was looking at me in a way that made me think that something was about to happen… but I was wrong, the day flew by and before I knew it, it was time to go to bed. I took my dress off, washed my face, and went to bed. We were talking and cuddling (I was the small spoon), suddenly, without any type of warning he proposed. I couldn’t believe what he was saying, I turned around immediately and asked repeatedly a combination of “are you sure?” and “are you serious?” over and over. He got out of the room and came back with a piece of red ribbon, went to my side of the bed, got down on one knee, and asked again. After asking a few more “are you sure?”s (I couldn’t believe it was happening!) I finally said YES!! He tied the ribbon on my finger and after a few tears, we went to bed. In the morning I thought it had been a dream, but I still had the ribbon tied around my finger and I realized it was all real! It was very intimate and a complete surprise! He bought me a ring online a couple of days later but I framed my original ribbon ring and I think it was the cutest COVID-lockdown proposal I could’ve gotten!!!
