Abbey and Zach

how we met

We met three years ago, beginning of our sophomore year of college, at a party hosted by our mutual friends. We’ve been in the same friend group ever since, throughout college. We went on our first date two years ago, he wanted to date me, but I just wanted to be friends at the time. I’m shocked I didn’t realize he was the one sooner. The timing was honestly perfect, though. We both dated other people over the past three years and we learned so much from the relationships that helps our relationship. We actually just started officially dating this St. Patrick’s day, 2019.

how they asked

So, I agreed to move to Florida with him for his job, when we started officially dating, as long as we were definitely going to get married. However, engagement was a few months in the future, we thought. We went to Jared, spontaneously, one day after mattress shopping, and three hours later, he bought me my dream ring. A few days later, I was drunk crying about how I wanted to be engaged before we moved to Florida. I said he could do it in my apartment in Muncie, IN. But he wanted it to be special. We both love Nashville, and it’s just a 5 hour drive. So, that night (Thursday) he booked an airbnb, a dinner reservation, and found Jay online, and two days later, on Saturday, we woke up at 7:00am, met my parents for breakfast to get their blessing, and we drove to Nashville. I knew it would be this day (Saturday), but I wasn’t sure when. After getting locked out of the airbnb for an hour upon arrival, the weekend was absolutely perfect. The bars in the evening, very nice dinner, then he made me happy cry just a few minutes before the proposal, I think because he was stalling for Jay, he telling me about his feelings for me. We walked up the bridge and before I knew it he was on one knee, asking me to marry him. After some pics and lots of kisses, we went out to the Nashville bars for the rest of the night. It was the happiest day of my life.
