Wesley and Taylor

How We Met

We met one of my best friends. I came home with her one weekend and we met up with a bunch of her high school friends and he took me on an SxS ride and drove like a maniac. Nothing happened that night because I thought he was way too country for me and I didn’t talk to him again for 2 more years. In the summer of 2016 we hung out a lot with a group of our friends and one night we hit it off, the next day we went to lunch and he bought mine. He asked my best friend that introduced us if she thought I might be interested and we have been together ever since. Timing is a crazy thing

How They Asked

I had planned to get new pictures taken because we had just gotten a new puppy and about a week away from the photoshoot I told him I wasn’t feeling it because I hadn’t found an outfit and I thought I would reschedule, he insisted that we keep the appointment. The day of the pictures he called and told me his family wanted to meet us at the state park we were getting the pictures at to get dinner afterward, I didn’t think anything of it. We were at the photoshoot and the photographer asked to get a couple of solo shots of me so we walked away from my fiancé.

Wesley's Proposal in Echo Bluff State Park

When I came back over he was walking towards me holding our puppy and the collar of our lab, they both had bandanas on which weren’t there before. The dog’s bandanas said, “Will you marry dad?”. He got down on one knee and told me I was the most beautiful girl in the world and he had no doubt that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. I always had told him I wanted puppies and a proposal and he really delivered. It was so special to have his family there to watch and record it.
