How We Met
We met at a church retreat and for me, it was love at the first sight. I didn’t know who he actually was since he just arrived to Guatemala from Spain not to long ago. At church, we had many friends in common but we never had the chance to talk to each other until the retreat. So my first words for him, and I still can’t believe I said this but it was more like, “hey, who are you and where do you come from?” very romantic is in it? After that, we started developing our friendship and 3 months later we started dating.
how they asked
We went to Atitlán Lake in Guatemala, my friends from Chicago are Wedding photographers and videographers so they told me they wanted to build up some new portfolio, so we spent the entire day there and before sunset we visited the hotel Laguna Lodge and went up to the third floor of the proposal and when I saw the roses on the deck I knew he was going to propose but it was a total surprise.
It was magical, perfect day, perfect weather and the one funny thing is that there’s a piece of clothe called “güipil” is a traditional piece from my country and I bought one just before the proposal and I was wearing it in that moment, but it was not planned, so sometimes the unplanned details make everything perfect.
