How We Met
Michael and I matched on Tinder back in 2016 but because of life getting in the way we weren’t able to meet up in person (I like to tell him he ghosted me he swears it was me lol). We had each other on social media and saw each other’s lives every day there. Flash forward to 2017 we decided to meet up. We met at a park and he brought his cute dog with him knowing I’m a sucker for animals. What was supposed to be a thirty-minute conversation ended up being a three-hour-long conversation. We decided to meet up that Saturday since our first date was a Thursday and we both didn’t do back-to-back dates. Well, the joke was on us because he called me the next day to get drinks and we ended up having dinner and still seeing each other every day after that. We have been together for almost five years August and we truly are best friends and compliment each other a lot. All our friends tell us how perfect we are for one another and I truly think we are especially because we do have similarities but also because of our own individual personalities. We really love doing everyday life together.
How They Asked
We are on vacation in Costa Rica. It was day 3 and we had an excursion planned out to go see the Hanging Bridges, La Fortuna Waterfall, and Arenal volcano. We finished the two-mile walk with the hanging bridges and our tour drove to the waterfall. To get to the waterfall we have to walk five hundred steps. After walking the steps we made it to the waterfall and I asked if he wanted to take a picture. He said he was out of breath but that he would once he managed to catch his breath. Our tour guide Mario said we had to wait for everyone else in our group in order to continue moving forward. I started taking my videos of the waterfall and shortly after heard our tour guide calling for our attention when I turn around I see Michael on his knee and I lost it.
I was ugly crying and my hands were shaking. I was so shocked. Everyone from our group congratulated us and even other people there who weren’t from our group congratulated us. It was so beautiful to me that none of these people knew us individually but witness this moment of love and were completely happy for us. Love truly is a universal language. I came to Costa Rica with a girlfriend and I’m leaving s fiancé! I have a video on Instagram that the tour guide was capturing I couldn’t upload it but it’s there and it’s worth checking out.
