How We Met
Raj and I owe many thanks to my best friend, Bernice. During Raj’s first year in college at the University of Texas, he would often make trips to visit his family and friends at home in Houston, Texas. After I had brushed off Bernice’s idea that Raj and I should meet up for a date a few times, he and Bernice decided to take matters in their own hands by making sure that Raj would show up unexpectedly at a get together among mutual friends. During his spring break, we got to know one another. Before we knew it, we were planning trips back and forth from Houston to Austin. Seven years, hundreds of miles apart, one house, a few trips, and one wild Goldendoodle later, Raj decided that it was time to take the next exciting step toward a life together forever!
how they asked
After seven amazing years of fleeting moments, crazy adventures, and lots of laughter, Raj invited me on a trip to the Amalfi Coast in Italy. I imagined that the best of the trip would be the delicious pasta, local wine, and unforgettable views but boy, was I wrong! On our stop through a mountainous town called Ravello, we took a tour through one of the most famous villas on the coast- Villa Rufolo. I stood on the balcony, surveying the ocean view and right after I turned around, Raj was on one knee asking me to marry him!
It was crazy to look at the person that I grew up with standing right in the middle of the most beautiful backdrop and know that he was the person that I get to spend the rest of my life with! To say the least, I feel like the happiest girl in the world!
