Lauren and Tommy

Lauren's Proposal in Aspen, Colorado

How We Met

We met at the dog park in March. He approached me saying “there aren’t a lot of pretty girls that come in here, so I had to say something to you”. I gave him my number and we chatted a bit. A month went by and then we saw each other again (little did I know he had a few people there on the lookout for me), he approached me again and I apparently had a HUGE smile on my face. He then asked me on an official date. We went on a date that he planned explicitly (literally sent me a questionnaire asking about my preferences). Needless to say, the date was perfect and we went on 2 more that same week! By the third date, we were talking about our future and what it looked like together. Tommy is everything I’ve ever wanted and dreamed for in a man. Although we have our differences, I wouldn’t want to spend my life with anyone else. Who would have thought that our wildest dreams would come true just by going to a dog park?!

how they asked

Tommy had this planned for MONTHS. While I was in Alaska he and my best friend (also a photographer) began plotting. It was supposed to be a trip for my birthday and for them to get to know each other since they had never met. He told me to pack a nice dress because we would be going to eat a nice dinner that Friday night and also going to a concert. We all got ready (and of course I was the last one out the door). Tyler mentioned how she wanted to take pictures since we would all be dressed up (she also wants me to learn more so I can help her second shoot).

Tyler and I walked together to the yurt to have cocktails and take pictures. She got pretty far ahead of me and I was taking my sweet time. As I get closer I notice through the trees that there are rose petals on the ground (I honestly thought it was just a kind gesture that Tommy and Kevin wanted to surprise us with), then I see Tommy standing there by himself.

Proposal Ideas Aspen, Colorado

It started to click that this wasn’t a photoshoot or cocktail hour…it was a PROPOSAL! He got on one knee and said “I knew I loved you ever since the first time I saw you in that dog park, and I want to continue to love and protect you for the rest of our lives, will you marry me?!” of course I responded with “SHUT UP, and ABSOLUTELY!” that day was the most magical day of my life, and I still can’t believe it!
