How We Met
Albert and I knew of each other through mutual friends while both attending colleges in NYC. However, it wasn’t until a college fraternity rush party at Stony Brook University that led to us being on a team and resulted in a victory game of beer pong. Since that night of the meeting we have been inseparable, it was September 17, 2009. Here we are now, 11 years later.
How They Asked
Albert took me to a random building in Midtown Manhattan that I had never seen before. I questionably walked into the elevator as he pressed PH2. I walked out and up a stairway to the roof deck and immediately noticed red flower petals sprinkled on the floor through a wooden fenced area. Inside I noticed an end table with a bottle of champagne, two glasses, and five paint easels with canvases resting on them covered with a white cloth.
One by one he began to unveil and printed on the canvases were photos of us throughout our relationship. Milestones and moments that he explained were important throughout our journey together. The last easel had a blank canvas and he asked, “why do you think this one is blank?” I can’t recall what I replied at the moment, I was so nervous. And he explained that although he isn’t sure what’s in store for the future he knows that he wants to spend the rest of his life with me, got down on one knee and proposed!
