How We Met
Navin and I met three years ago working in the Emergency Department at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, NJ. I was working as a Child Life Specialist on the pediatric side and he was working as a physician on the adult side. We crossed paths one day and had a brief conversation. That conversation turned into Navin finding me on my lunch breaks to bring me cookies and have longer conversations about our life and common interests. I declined his initial date offers in an attempt to maintain our close friendship. I left the hospital in Newark for a job in Boston. Three years later, we reconnected and I finally took him up on his date offer. After our first kiss, I knew he was the one.
How They Asked
Navin planned the proposal on a Tuesday afternoon. His coworker recently started his own commercial flight company in NJ. Navin wanted to show his support by having us take a flight together at sunset. The flight path took us directly over NYC and he popped the question while we were flying over Central Park. NYC is my favorite place in the world, I couldn’t have dreamed of a more beautiful proposal!
