How We Met
We technically met for the “first time” twice back in 2016. The first one was at a park with acquaintances, we were introduced to each other but didn’t have a chance to talk. Then two weeks after that, we met again at a mutual friend’s birthday party. I didn’t realize who he was until he reminded me about it. We sat beside each other and talked the entire night. The day after the party, he messaged me right away and that’s how our love story unfolded. A few weeks into dating, he told me that before meeting me at the park, he already knew who I was and saw me at the church once, we were apparently standing side by side as we walked down the aisle towards the altar for Holy Communion. and now I can’t wait to walk down the aisle on our wedding day!
How They Asked
We have booked our Europe trip for months and I had no idea he was gonna propose to me then! He researched where to propose, looked for proposal packages at The Shard and Big Eye in London (super expensive! so that’s a no lol) and he finally found a photography tour guide on Airbnb.
March 3, 2020 – (The very first day of our Europe Trip):
When we arrived in London after a 17-hour flight, we went out to grab food and that’s when he told me he has a surprise photography tour booked for us in an hour (an HOUR for me to shower, do my hair and makeup, choose what to wear! I was stressed! lol). We took photos at some of the major tourist spots in London and the entire time I still had no idea what was about to happen. They both planned to have the proposal at a rooftop which had the view of Saint Paul’s Cathedral, but when we arrived, they’ve closed the rooftop patio to the public. At this point, I almost wanted to ask to go home because I was so tired and the photographer said he wants one last “hero shot” near the Cathedral.
There we were, posing for the photo when he held my hands, faced towards me and started telling me about how he knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me during OUR VERY FIRST DATE. That’s when I realized what was going on, I started tearing up. He asked me to marry him at Saint Paul’s Cathedral because he wanted to have God’s blessing. It was forecasted to rain on that day but I guess the fact that the sun was shining is God’s way of showing it. He then surprised me with an engagement dinner at the Shard.
