How We Met
We went to middle school together in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I used to arm wrestle the boys at recess in 6th grade. He was one of the only boys I couldn’t beat! We had mutual friends growing up and became close friends in college. He has been my best friend for 10 years now and counting. This last year was when we took our friendship to the next level and we began dating. Everyone always says your partner should be your best friend. I feel so blessed to be able to say this came true for me.
How They Asked
On April 26, 2019, we left for our next adventure, a trip to Greece and Italy. We spent the first two days enjoying the beautiful views and sunsets in Santorini, Greece. On April 28, 2019, he asked me to go to a “nice dinner with him” as a way to get me to dress up nice! He said he would like to go watch the sunset before dinner so we went on a lovely walk to this amazing spot in Oia Santorini where we were staying.
We came up to this private entrance and he walked right through. I told him we can’t go in there and he took my hand and told me it was okay. He then dropped down on one knee and said “Taylor, you are the love of my life. My best friend. I would love to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?” I was so excited I began uncontrollably laughing and hugging him whilst saying yes yes! He had arranged a professional photographer to capture this beautiful moment that we can cherish forever.
