How we met
It all started when I was 14 years old, a freshman in high school, and Lucas was 15 years old, a sophomore. He asked me to be his date for the winter formal dance at school, and a few months later asked me to be his girlfriend. I fell in love with him immediately, and knew he would one day be my future husband. Fast forward almost 7 years, and here we are engaged to be married, just like I always knew would happen. In a sense we’ve grown up together. We have been there for each other through thick and thin, and we now vow to be by each other’s side for the rest of our lives.
how they asked
Lucas and I love spending time in nature, taking photographs, and recording our memories together. He asked me to come up to his family’s cabin with him, and told me he wanted to film our weekend together and to kayak out on Lake Alpine for a photoshoot. Since we film and take photos often, it wasn’t out of the ordinary for us to do so on this trip. We kayaked to a beautiful island out on the lake, and Lucas set up the tripod and secretly set it to record. “Life is an adventure, but what is an adventure without someone to share it with?” he quoted before he got on one knee and asked me to marry him.
I of course said yes!!!
