How We Met
Eric and I met in kindergarten! Our paths crossed all the time because my brother and Eric were in karate together. We weren’t always close or even friends and drifted apart in high school. After high school, we reconnected over Facebook and after talking for a while we went on our first date.
How They Asked
I moved to Flagstaff to go to NAU and Eric went to Indiana on his mission. We continued to write letters and email the 2 years that he was gone. We were able to talk on the phone or Skype twice a year.
Our love grew stronger and we knew we were meant to be together. He came home and after a few months moved to Flagstaff to be closer to me. One summer evening Eric took me on a walk to Old Main on the NAU’s north quad. It was a beautiful evening and he knew it was my favorite place on campus to walk and hang out. I would always joke with him that Taylor Hall was my hall because we share a name. In front of Taylor Hall, he pulled a keepsake box out of a tree and handed it to me. Inside was my favorite book, The Lucky One, with a heart cut in it that was holding the ring. As I opened the book he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I said yes without hesitation! We have had a wonderfully long engagement but now we are getting married in March of 2020 in Flagstaff, Arizona!
