How We Met
We met through my older sister in high school when we both had boyfriends/girlfriends. Colin left for the Marine Corps after high school and was stationed in Twenty Nine Palms, CA. On the last leave of his service, he came home and we ended up running into each other at the gym here in town.
He asked me on a date that night and the rest was history! For our second date, he flew me to Las Vegas for his last Marine Corp Ball. Almost seven years later, we have both graduated college and live in Chico with our dog, Porter.
How They Asked
Carmel has always had a special place in my heart since I was a kid. When the two of us met I couldn’t wait to share it with him. We have frequently visited Carmel at least once a year every year we have been together. After I graduated nursing school in May, he took me to Carmel for what I thought was a relaxing, celebratory weekend.
On Saturday before we went to dinner, he told me he wanted to go watch the sunset on the beach first. We had walked about a mile down the beach to where we were all alone and he got down on his knee! Little did I know there had been a photographer following us all the way down the beach! It was picture perfect.
