How We Met
Jerrin and I came to Australia to study. Coincidentally, we met for a mutual friend’s party in Sydney, where we started talking and instantly felt the chemistry between us. Taking it slow, we started talking and getting to know each other a lot more and told our parents about each other. It turns out that my dad and Jerrin’s dad were childhood friend’s and their families know each other very well. Our parents were extremely happy to hear this.
How They Asked
Jerrin planned this special moment for me in the best possible way. He was planning this for a month, and I had no clue about it. Every detail of the proposal moment was mesmerizing. It seemed like I was dreaming. He said that it was our mutual friend’s birthday party, and it was planned out by them as well. I dressed up for my friend’s birthday and was ready to go. My all-time favorite spot is the Sydney harbor bridge and the opera house. We got out of the car and walked towards my friend’s. The next thing she did was blindfold me and asked me to walk.
I was curious to know what was happening. In a few minutes, Jerrin removed the blindfold and I saw a beautiful setup of flowers in the shape of heart and pretty lights. Next to it was a hexagon-shaped board in purple color (which is my favorite color) displaying, “Will you marry me?’’ Jerrin played the song ‘Perfect” by Ed Sheeran which is my favorite with his guitar. I had tears in my eyes when he knelt and asked me to marry him with a beautiful ring. It was one of the best moments of my life. The setting was perfect with the harbor bridge in the background and I’m still in awe.
