How We Met
Sean and I met on New Year’s Eve 2011 at a party thrown by two of our mutual friends. Although our paths could have crossed numerous times before that evening, they never had. We shared a handful of common friends, yet it seemed as though the timing wasn’t right until we met on that chilly December night. Sean struck up a conversation with me early in the evening and we first bonded over the veggie tray I had prepared. I could tell what an attentive, thoughtful and funny person Sean was after our first conversation. I knew he was different and there was something special about him. This picture was taken by someone at the party- little did we know what was about to transpire! We went on our first date two weeks later to a Mediterranean restaurant Sean chose and have been inseparable ever since.
how they asked
Much to my surprise, Sean proposed at Starved Rock on August 18, 2013. I thought we were going hiking for the day! On the drive from the city to Starved Rock, Sean seemed as calm as could be. I had no idea he had an engagement ring in his backpack and would pop the question a few short hours later. We were taking in all of the sights when I noticed a gorgeous backdrop that I wanted to take a picture of. I asked Sean to get the camera out of the backpack and when I turned around to grab it, he was down on one knee asking me to marry him. It was the most special day and he put so much thought and effort into it!
