how we met
Our love story began on a blind date at Marble Slab after being set up by our close friends and family! Jason called me that afternoon to ask me to dinner, but I didn’t answer as I was busy signing the contract on my new house. I called him back a few hours later and we settled on meeting for ice cream instead. As we talked, we figured out that we grew up in the same neighborhood and went to the same high school, but somehow never met! We made plans for an “official” first date for the following weekend as Jason walked me to my car at the end of the night. Needless to say, we hit it off that night and life has been sweeter ever since!
how they asked
Jason flew home early from a business trip in Dallas and told me we had dinner reservations that evening. He picked me up after getting home from the airport and we headed downtown to find something to do before dinner. It was a beautiful day and we decided to enjoy it by going for a walk through Falls Park in downtown Greenville. Jason was acting a little unlike his normal self that day, so I began to wonder what was about to happen. After walking around for a bit (while he looked for the perfect spot), we settled on a bench with a view of the Liberty Bridge and Reedy River. We sat and talked like we normally do, and the next thing I knew he was down on one knee and asking me to marry him! We spent some time in the park soaking in the excitement of being newly engaged before we headed to a lovely dinner. Afterwards we stopped at the ice cream shop where we first met, sitting at the same table we did that night back in May, before heading to Up on the Roof where Jason had arranged for our family and close friends to meet us with cake and drinks to celebrate. It was perfect!
