Tan and Ash
How They Asked
He planned the surprise proposal with my sister and our close friends for weeks before he finally asked me to marry him. Being from Florida, it was quite difficult for him to coordinate with everyone and to pick a place for the perfect proposal. The morning of the proposal, he told me to meet up with him near the Airbnb he stayed at so that we could go to Longwood garden in Kenneth Square, PA. It was pouring outside and loud thunderstorms were no joke! I almost asked him to reschedule our plans for going that far from home. However, he insisted on still keeping up with the original plan. Little did I know, our friends and family were already waiting for us at the location.
The Uber ride for almost an hour to the garden was the scariest part of the whole thing! My phone kept ringing with flood alarms! I almost thought we won’t survive this road trip! When we got there, we walked around a bit and he pulled me all of a sudden toward the nicer part of the garden and started to say the sweetest things anyone has ever said to me! Immediately after that, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I was so overwhelmed that I started to shake. I nodded yes to him (lol, I wish I said yes a million times instead of just nodding). Then the photographer came out of the bush and surprised me for the second time! Little did I know, that wasn’t the end of surprises. Once we started walking to another part of the garden to take more pictures, I saw my family and friends waiting there for me! It was the best day of my life!
