How We Met
Branden & I first met when we were in elementary school during the summer of 2004 in our hometown Turlock, CA. Brought together by mutual family friends for a day at the skate park, the day we met Branden taught me how to roller skate down half pipes! He still loves to talk about how my head was too small for my helmet and kept falling to one side! Several years later, we were also each other’s first kiss! We continued our close friendship throughout junior high and high school and each went away to college in Southern California. Branden went to UC Santa Barbara and I went to Cal Poly Pomona. We reunited during our last year of college at my parents annual Christmas Eve party and the rest is history…We made it through 6 months of dating long distance (Disneyland and Santa Barbara trips aren’t so bad), graduated college, traveled Ireland, moved back and forth from the Bay Area, and we’ve finally settled in Santa Rosa, CA where we both work in the wine industry. We feel extremely blessed to have known each other through almost every stage in each other’s lives and know we are extraordinarily lucky to have grown up with our soul mate. We can’t wait to see where the future takes us and spend the rest of our lives together. We’re so excited to tie the knot and can’t wait to celebrate with everyone who’s loved us and supported us along the way!
how they asked
Branden proposed at Domaine Carneros Winery in Napa, CA. I was under the impression that I was going wine tasting with my mom and future mother-in-law for the day. When we arrived at Domaine Carneros, we decided to take some photos on the beautiful patio overlooking the vineyards and rolling hills. As we were taking photos, one of the employees came up to me and handed me a calligraphy love letter that Branden had someone hand write. After I finished reading the letter, I turned around and he was there on one knee!
He said, “I’ve been falling in love with you since I was 10 years old and I’m going to continue to fall in love with you forever. I love you more than anything in this world and I want to spend the rest of my life with you….Will you marry me?” It was the most magical moment and we both felt so full of love. Little did I know that both of our father’s were there as well! It was such a special moment to share with family and a day we’ll never forget.
After the proposal, we celebrated with Champagne tastings and a night at the Silverado Resort in Napa. The next morning, we got couples massages at the resort and spent the day wine tasting in Napa. It was truly my fairy tale!
