How They Asked
Juan and I decided to take a spur of the moment trip to New York City, where I have always wanted to go! It was completely his idea and I was so excited. As we were planning our trip, he asked if I was going to get my nails done. I’ll admit, I thought that was strange because he doesn’t normally ask questions like that, but I didn’t act on it.
As our trip was approaching, I decided to get my nails done “just in case.” I tried not going in with the mindset that he was going to propose, despite the fact that my family and close friends kept asking me if this was it. So, cut to our second day of vacation, November 13th (exactly one month shy of our 6 year anniversary).
We had a packed day of sightseeing and ended our day at Top of the Rock Observation Deck. There were hardly any people there since it was late, and we had the most incredible view of the entire city! Juan decided to set up his phone to take a “timed photo” and the next thing I knew he was down on one knee. I had absolutely NO idea he was going to propose, so I was completely shocked! He had the ring with him ALL day and I was completely oblivious! My dream really came true in my dream city.
