How We Met
We were the ultimate High School Sweethearts. Blaine and I met back in 11th grade and both 17 years old. We had math class together and quickly became friends. After hanging out for a couple months Blaine finally asked me to “be his girlfriend” on March 12th 2008. He tells me now that as cliche as it is, he loved me the second he saw me. Since then we’ve continued to date for 8 years (now 25) throughout college, starting our careers and officially growing up.
how they asked
It was a week after my 25th birthday (I’m a Valentine’s Day baby and he’s a New Year’s Eve baby) and Blaine had planned a trip for us to go to Burlington Vermont for the weekend. We left on Saturday February 20th and on our way to Burlington he suggested he stop at Killington Mountain and take the Gondola up to the top of the mountain and have lunch. So we took the Gondola up and ate at the restaurant on top of the mountain. He suggested we get our picture taken after we finished since the view was beautiful. He posed for a picture (which was really a video) and all of the sudden he got down on one knee, pulled out a gorgeous ring and asked me to marry him! Even though we had been dating for so long I was still absolutely shocked! It was the perfect proposal and happiest moment of my life. I’m so happy he had someone capture it. Then when we came home on Sunday he orchestrated a big surprise engagement party for me with all of our family and friends. It was the perfect weekend.
