How we met
Grecia and I were brought together by the grace of God and a little Disney Magic. Grecia and I have both been Disney fans since we were little kids, which made the fact that we actually met at Disneyland in October of 2012 extremely special. We hit it off right away and became the best of friends! Even at a distance of nearly 400 miles, since she lived in San Francisco and I lived in Los Angeles, Grecia and I became inseparable.
As our friendship grew, so did our love for one another. After a year and a half and lots of prayer we both felt God’s confirmation that we were supposed to be together for the rest of our lives. On January 3rd, 2014, even before she officially became my girlfriend, I told Grecia that she was going to be my wife one day, and on August 6th, 2016, I put a ring on it to make sure that promise comes true.
how they asked
Steven and I have been in a long distance relationship for almost 3 years. Steven lives in Los Angeles and I live in San Francisco. On August 6, 2016, Steven made a surprise trip to San Francisco. Steven had arranged to meet my family and closest friends at Billy Goat Hill, a park in San Francisco that we had often visited and that overlooks the city. As Steven and my family gathered and prepared for the special moment when Steven would ask me to be his wife, I was on the other side of the city having a girls day with my best friend and completely clueless as to the special event that was about to unfold. After shopping, my best friend insisted that we drive to billy goat hill. Once we arrived she gestured for me to walk up the hill and disappeared as she sprinted in the opposite direction.
As I walked up the hill, music began to play and along my path stood my family with signs and flowers in hand. The signs read “Once upon a time there was a girl, who held the key to one lucky mans heart. Every moment was a gift from heaven. Every moment a light in a dim world. So the man developed a plan… To make that light last forever…”
I walked the path lined with my family members and collected their roses. I then came to a stairwell and from it I looked down and could see my closest friends patiently waiting. Further in the distance, at the edge of the hill, stood my handsome fiancé-to-be. My family walked me down the stairway and I walked toward my love.
He poured out his heart to me and then got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife! I of course said yes! I’m still in disbelief that in just a few short months I will begin the rest of my life with the love of my life and the truest friend I’ve ever known. Thank you Jesus!
