Hi friends! It’s Stacy, founder of HowTheyAsked.com, here to tell you all about my AMAZING bachelorette party in Cancun, Mexico (and to relive it myself as I do…).
When I originally began thinking of my dream trip with my Maid of Honor Beth (shown at the very bottom of this post), I had a few priorities. I didn’t want anything with a lot of logistics or anything too wild. I wanted something easy, sunny, and with a good balance of fun and relaxation. I also wanted it to be super girly and very affordable.
After seeing great direct flights from NYC (where most of my girlfriends live) to Cancun, Mexico and finding an awesome all-inclusive resort (Paradisus Cancun), we decided to go for it and 18 of us booked a trip to paradise in the middle of an otherwise cold, terrible winter!

Here was our itinerary…
Thursday: A friend and I got there early, sat on the beach, and then welcomed girls every hour throughout the day. At night, we had dinner at one of the Paradisus’ restaurants called Enzo. Again, it was an all-inclusive resort so the meal and drinks were already included (which throughout the trip was amazing to not have to pull out our cards, figure out splitting, and so forth). The service was unreal and the food was awesome. Later that night, all my friends also presented me with an adorable book (made by Beth) that had a love note from each girl in it – including ones who couldn’t make the party. We played some silly games (my favorite) and called it a night.

Friday: We got up early rented a boat (booked by our resort), and had an epic dance party the entire day while cruising the beautiful blue ocean. The captains were SO much fun and even set up a wrecking ball so I could let out my inner Miley. It was one of the less tame hours of the bachelorette but I loved that it was just my girlfriends and I having a blast, with no one watching!

After our dance party, we stopped for lunch, hit a beach for an hour or so, and jumped into crystal clear water. By the time we got home around 6:30pm, we were ready to eat and crash, so that’s exactly what we did.
Saturday: First, I treated myself and my Maid of Honor to a massage at the resort’s Yhi Spa! I thought it was a nice way to thank Beth for all her hard work on making the bachelorette party better than I could have imagined. And OMG, the treatment was amazing. We chose the hot stone massage and were both in heaven. My other friends were able to use the steam room and sauna so they were happy about that treat too!
The rest of Saturday was our all-day beach day. Paradisus has a ton of amazing places to lay out – whether it’s by the pool, in private cabanas, in cabanas at their beach club, or just on chaises by the ocean. We chose the ones by the beach club and it was the perfect day. The resort has waitstaff that comes by to make sure you have food, drinks, water, and sunscreen (or even tanning oil!). The staff took such good care of us the whole time and suspect any group of girls would get similar treatment. If anyone wanted to grab anything else to eat, however, there were tons of restaurants by the pools that they could go to throughout the day. Here’s that view (hands-on-face emoji):
At around 4pm, we went inside, quickly changed and then came back to the beach for a photoshoot with Flytographer. I’ve known about this company for a few years now and LOVE their concept. They’re vacation photographers and capture you in the middle of any exciting trip! They actually capture tons of proposals too (we’ve featured a lot on the site, like this proposal in London or this one in San Fran), so I knew I wanted to do a shoot for the bachelorette!
Since we’re friends, they’re giving us $50 off your shoot with the code HHABACH. You have to book by March 31st, 2016 but the shoot can be anytime within the year!
Here are some of my favorite shots from our shoot with our Flytographer shooter, Monica:

After the shoot, we had a wonderful dinner at the resort (I’m telling you, there’s nothing like an all-inclusive) and then went to a club called Coco Bongo. This was our one big night out and I have to say, I didn’t expect it to be this fun. I’m not the biggest club person (though I love a good dance party) and I was nervous about feeling too crowded, losing girls, not feeling safe, and other similar concerns. But, BOY oh BOY this place was a blast. They had tons of live entertainment which was surprisingly awesome (think Phantom of the Opera, Cirque de Soleil, Madonna, Pit Bull and Beyonce) and it was a great crowd of people! We danced our hearts out.
Sunday: This was the saddest, worst day of the entire trip. The last day. We hung out by the pool all day and said goodbye to a few girls every hour. I was really hoping to stay another week, or perhaps stay until the wedding a month later!!
so in summary…
TAKE ME BACK!!!! There’s not ONE thing I would have changed about the trip. The calm spirit of the resort, combined with the fun activities my Maid of Honor and friends planned, combined with the few wilder moments, combined with the sun and the food and the tans we got, it was all just perfect. If you’re looking for a care-free bachelorette party, I beg you to copy our itinerary!
praise goes to…
Many thanks to all the people and places who made the trip so special!!
Finally…. I wanted to give the biggest shout out, thank you, I love you, you’re perfect and everything in between to my incredible life-long best friend and Maid of Honor. Oh wait, one more…. another huge thank you to my friends. And to every friend of a bride out there. You mean more to our emotional bridal hearts than you can imagine.
