Sophie and Avi
how they asked: Avi and I met 3 years ago in Melbourne, I was out for dinner and drinks with the girls and Avi was working as a bouncer at the bar we were at. We chatted for a couple of hours and he asked for my number. We went on a date the following weekend, and chatted for about 5 hours. We had so much to talk about, and he is such a kind soul. Since then we have built a house together, and just before this was ready for us to move into we went on a holiday to his home country, Mauritius. A few days in, on his parents wedding anniversary – he surprised me with a booking at a beautiful resort called Le Touessrok. He had booked a private candlelit dinner on the beach, with a private butler and a handpicked menu. He didn’t dress up, as he knew I would cotton on to the proposal! Avi proposed after the champagne was served. It was beautiful, and obviously I said YES!! We had the most beautiful holiday, and shared the occassion shortly after with his family in a traditional engagement party hosted under the coconut trees of their beach house. I wore a beautiful sari that my future mother in law had made for me, in my favourite colour (dark purple). The engagement ring was presented to me at this party, by our 3 year old nephew and my fiance then put it on my finger. This is a holiday I will never forget!
