How We Met
Our story began in the city of love at Megumi sushi bar. Nick assumed I knew how to use chopsticks and it took me two hours to eat my rice.. it was all uphill from there. I was going to PA school, Nick was in podiatry school in Philly. Throughout the semester Nick and I continued to go on many dates. Time flew and before I knew it I graduated PA school and accepted a job in upstate NY. Nick was in residency in RI and we did distance for another 2.5 years. During this time COVID was in full force with travel restrictions. We treated patients with covid, working nights, evenings, weekends, holidays but we always found a way to see each other, even if it was for only 24 hours. After 3.5 years of distance I made the move to Rhode Island to be with him and the rest is history.
How They Asked
We were going to a wedding in Florida for my work best friend. Before we left I was contacted by a cake company and asked to do a photo shoot on Sunday before we left. I thought nothing of it, being a long-time customer of the company. They picked out my outfit and told me the beach to meet at.
On the boardwalk walking to what I thought was a cake photoshoot Nick got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. The first thing I asked was “so there’s no cake?” and then of course said yes.
