How They Asked
We had talked about getting engaged, but I had absolutely no idea Daniel had gone about getting a ring made or planned the most sentimental proposal! We had been spending the day with his family before Christmas, and as the day went on he clearly was on edge. Towards the evening he asked if I wanted to take a walk. Confused because it was freezing outside, I agreed with little enthusiasm. He expressed a wish to walk to a little gazebo that is in our hometown.
This was the same spot where (years before) he had given me a promise ring. This was also a spot we had walked many times during the early months of our relationship. The gazebo was decorated for Christmas, and as we reached the spot he asked if we could dance in the gazebo. As we were dancing he got down on one knee and asked me to spend forever with him! I was completely taken by surprise and immediately started crying with joy. I said YES!
