How We Met
Chris and I started talking on Match.com in July of 2019. We both share a love of all things Disney and that is what started our conversation. We went on our first date to a sushi restaurant where he actually convinced me to eat Eel and he did some magic tricks for me at the table as he has been a magician since he was little. I should have known this would mean a relationship full of adventures coming up. We went on a few dates a week for about a month and a half before we made things official between us. Although I “friend zoned” him in the beginning, it didn’t take too long for me to fall for his witty charm and I realized he was my best friend and I didn’t want to experience life with anyone else.
How They Asked
Beauty and the Beast have always been my favorite Disney film as I love Belle and Beast together in the end. We had been planning our big Walt Disney World vacation together for almost a year and we had to make sure to have dining reservations at the Be Our Guest restaurant in Magic Kingdom. Chris had taken me ring shopping back in June to look at Disney Enchanted wedding rings so naturally, I knew something was coming, I just didn’t know when. I was trying not to think about a proposal for the trip just in case it didn’t happen. We showed up to our reservations at the Beast’s Castle wearing Belle and Beast shirts Chris had bought for us to wear together. When you walk in, there is a beautifully stained glass art piece of Belle and her Prince. Chris asked the hostess to take some pictures of us but apparently, he had gone to the restaurant earlier in the day to scope things out and ask the hostess to the video instead of taking photos. He had hidden the ring earlier next to the stained glass mural.
While we were having our photos taken, he knelt down on his knee and grabbed a beautiful red rose. He told me how much he loved me and asked me to be his wife and then opened the red rose and inside was my Belle-inspired wedding ring!!! It was such a beautiful and magical moment. We then took some photos in the restaurant and sat down to eat our meal.
Beast made an appearance at lunch around the tables and at the end of our meal they brought out an incredible dessert that said “Congratulations.” Chris also bought us some cute shirts to wear around Magic Kingdom that said “I asked” and “I Said Yes.” We continued the day by getting our pictures taken around the park and ended the day by watching the new Disney Enchantment firework show. It was the most magical day of my life and the best Disney trip I’ve ever been on! Here’s to our Happily Ever After!
