How We Met
I was in 7th grade and he was in 6th. We went to public school together. Crossing paths in many ways throughout our “childhood”. We dated different people, but were friends through out the next 14 years. We reconnected through friends, and the rest is history.
how they asked
I am a 5th grade teacher at Mitchell Elementary School in Tampa, Florida. It was a normal day for me. Although from his point… not so much. In the afternoon I got a call from the assistant principal, he told me he had something urgent to show and tell me. I rushed down to the office, not aware that he was hidden away with the photographer in the guidance office immediately across from the main office. While I picked up a beautiful bouquet that he sent as a decoy, he was sneaking up the stairs to my classroom, photographer and principal, as well as half the office staff. I made my way back up the stairs with my assistant principal, unaware to me that he was waiting inside with twenty-five 5th graders. Each of my students were holding a sign that said “say yes”. I couldn’t move so he came to me and got down on one knee, and said everything perfectly. It was totally unexpected, but the perfect moment that we will never forget… and 25 5th graders won’t either.
