how they asked: Alex came over one night to ask me to go ice skating. It was a cold November night, and initially I preferred to just stay at home and be cozy, but he insisted we would have a good time if we went. As we were in the car on the way, I reminisced how the ice rink at Campus Martius was one of our very first dates, and how much fun we had that night. Soon, we got on the ice and had been skating for maybe 10 minutes when they made an announcement that everyone had to clear the ice for the zamboni to clean it. As the crowd started to clear the ice, he kept skating around with me as if we should be the last ones to leave the ice. At this point I was starting to get worried they would kick us out! Little did I know this was all very well planned out ahead… It had also started snowing beautifully just minutes before. He took me to the center of the ice, held me close, looked into my eyes while telling me the sweetest words, and then got down on one knee. At this point I finally realized what was happening and could not contain myself. My heart was beating out of my chest, I started crying, and of course joyfully replied yes!! He put the most beautiful, perfect ring (which he designed) on my finger while everyone around the rink was watching and started cheering for us. He has also hired a photographer to hide in secret and capture the entire thing! It was truly one of the best moments of my life, which I will never forget. I excited to be married to such a thoughtful, charming, wonderful man.
