How We Met
Dinesh and Shivnita’s story is proof that love knows no boundaries, distance or even countries.
Shivnita left Sydney, Australia in 2014 to embark on a new chapter in life to work in London. Meanwhile, Dinesh was progressing in his career as an Actuary and was enjoying his life in the City, none the wiser to the fact that his future wife had just touched down in London Heathrow airport!
Their love story began in the summer of 2015. By chance, they both happened to attend the same event separately, at the ‘Jazz Café’ in London. The event was ‘Hip-Hop karaoke’, and Shivnita first noticed Dinesh when he got up and performed on stage in front of hundreds of people. Shivnita’s friend Preashni, was her usual wing woman for her, so that night she had asked ‘which one’? and Shivnita pointed to Dinesh and said ‘that one’.
Feeling parched after his majestic performance, Dinesh made his way to the bar. It was at this moment he first laid his eyes on his Shivnita. Preashni went up to Dinesh and asked him if he was single. He said yes and Preashni said, well you should talk to my friend. Dinesh was stunned by how beautiful she was, and he knew he had to speak to her! Within moments he made his way over to her, some banter was exchanged, and after discovering a mutual love of food, travel, and music (and of course hip-hop karaoke), the rest, as they say, is history!
How They Asked
In May 2018, Dinesh flew Shivnita over to the Greek island of Santorini, where he organized a magical proposal for her in the lesser well-known town of Imerovigli. Santorini was always a place Shivnita had dreamed of going. Dinesh had arranged for a professional photographer to capture their special moment.
Set amidst a backdrop of clear blue skies and sweeping views of the Aegean Sea, Dinesh was confident there was no way Shivnita could refuse! And she said yes! After that, they then had a beautiful professional engagement shoot.
