Glenn had been living in Atlanta for about 7 years and I had just moved back to the city for work. We matched on a dating website and went on a first date shortly after. We were pretty much inseparable since then. We quickly began cooking together, traveling, and keeping each other laughing constantly. I pretty much knew I wanted to marry him within the first few dates.
We enjoy traveling together and had planned a weekend in Montreal. Little did I know this would probably be one of the best trips of my life.
Glenn and my sister had spent months putting together the perfect engagement ring. Glenn had also reached out Ness Photography, a local photographer in Montreal specializing in surprise proposals. Prior to taking me out to dinner, Glenn suggested that we walk around the Old Port to explore the local architecture. He was actually walking towards the photographer who was secretly waiting to document the proposal.
We walked down the boardwalk towards the water, where he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. The answer was, “Yes!” accompanied with the applause of everyone at the bar terrace behind us.
After the proposal, our photographer provided us with a bottle of champagne to celebrate the occasion. It was absolutely the best day of my life.
To top it all off, my sister in Atlanta sent me a picture of our dog Charlie announcing the engagement.
