Shelley and Wilson
how they asked: I was in the D.C. area for military training for three months. I thought I was meeting his sister on a while she was “in D.C. for a business trip.” We planned to meet at the Washington Monument to start our day. As I was walking around the monument looking for her, she called and told me she had seen me and I should turn around and walk the other way.
When I turned around Wilson was the one walking toward me. I froze and started crying. I thought he was on the other side of the country. He took my hand and walked me to Signer’s Island in the Constitution Gardens and said the most perfect words. With both of us in the military, we expect separation and hard times, but there is no one else I’d rather share my life with.
