Sharon and Rodrigo
How We Met
It’s been 13 years! We technically met in 3rd grade and started “dating” in 8th grade, we’ve been together ever since. Middle school sweethearts? You could say this engagement was a long time coming!
how they asked
I thought we were going on a vacation with his family to Napa for the weekend and then to Seattle to visit his brother.
Before flying into Napa, Rodrigo warned me that upon arrival we would have to go to a work event at his boss’ vineyard before meeting up with his family. To my surprise, there was no work event taking place. He proposed at the highest point of Cornell vineyard overlooking all of Napa Valley and even booked a photographer who captured the moment perfectly.
After proposing Rodrigo mentioned we still had to go to the tasting room at the bottom of the hill as he had booked a private tasting for the two of us. Little did I know, both of our families were waiting for us in the tasting room to pop a bottle of bubbly and celebrate! You can see by the look on my face that I was extremely surprised and couldn’t be happier to be able to celebrate the moment with our nearest and dearest.
We spent the rest of that night celebrating with family and making our important phone calls! But the next day I was surprised, yet again, as Rodrigo planned for 10 of our best friends to fly/drive to Napa to spend the weekend wine tasting with us.
And his last surprise? Turns out we were never flying to Seattle after spending the weekend in Napa, we were going to Cabo! Next step? We’re getting married on the same day that we got engaged in 2019! #hehadheratbravo
