How We Met
Patrick and I met at church back in 2017 and became good friends through our mutual love for photography. We knew from the start that marriage was the goal of dating and on July 19th, 2018, we began our journey as a couple. Throughout the months we’ve explored the outdoors, shoot weddings together, and have had so much fun. Oh, and a lot of laughing.
How They Asked
On October 13th, 2019 I did not wake up thinking today’s the day I’m getting engaged. It was a normal Sunday, we saw each other at church and afterward hung out with friends. He wanted to leave exactly at 3 pm to get to the Paterson Falls. We had planned to go there a few days prior because he heard that the water was super low and we could get close to the falls. He told me, he wanted to get some photos of us in the canoe, right by the Falls. I figured it would be a fun adventure and we’d get some really great photos. So we got there, took the canoe off the car and began dragging it down the woods, near the falls. We got to the bottom and hopped right into the canoe!
The waterfalls were stunning — we were so close to them! It was beautiful. It felt like I was in Jurassic Park or something out of the movies. We parked the canoe near some rocks and his intention was to get me on the biggest rock, at the center of the falls. We climb to the top and he got down on his knee and asked me to marry him! I began sobbing and replied, YES! It was amazing, the location was so us and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with my best friend. But the story doesn’t end there. The Park Ranger found us. Apparently they called the entire fire department and rescue squad as well. All to say, we were fine and got some tickets. I mean it kinda makes the story better. All this to say, we are pumped to get married!!!
