How We Met
How We Met: Joe and I attended the same high-school, (go MVSD Eagles!) I was a junior and he was a senior. I had noticed him a couple times during my beginner’s guitar class where he would come and help teach the class. One day I asked him to tune my guitar and he throws his phone at me and goes “there’s a tuner on there”. At that point I figured he was hopeless. A couple months later our mutual friend brought him to a board meeting for the district that I was attending. We talked and I decided to try one more time, so I put my number in his phone. I waited all night for a text that I thought I would never get, but right as I was about to fall asleep he texted me! We started dating 2 weeks after. We’ve been together four years now!
how they asked
We had gotten tickets to go see Lee Brice, a country singer, in concert at the college we attend. The concert just so happened to be on our four year anniversary 04-16. We waited in line for 2 hours to get front row in the pit. It was well worth the wait. Towards the end of the concert Lee sang my absolute favorite song, Love Like Crazy, I call it our anthem because we started dating at such a young age and the song is about a couple that did the exact same but have been married for 58 years now. All of a sudden during the chorus, be a best friend, tell the truth, and overuse I love you, go to work, do your best, don’t outsmart your common sense, never let your praying knees get lazy, and love like crazy’…
He spins me around and the crowd around us parted and he was on one knee. He asked me to marry him and the only thing I could do between my tears is nod my head yes. (He still tells everyone I never really said yes) But I’m so excited to marry my best-friend!
