How We Met

We met in the summer of 2014, a hot night in June in downtown Sacramento, CA. He was with his friends and I was with mine. We bumped into them after leaving a bar & I happened to know the people whom he was with. My friend introduced me to him. We decided to all link up later & hang out for a bit. That night we exchanged numbers & went on our first date to the movies the very next day. And the rest is history! Haha jk.

Our relationship started out kind of rocky, we even took a break after 6 months. We ended up getting back together 6 months later & we’re been one ever since. We had our son together a couple of years later. That little booger is 3 now. Coming into our relationship we each had kids, so we’re a blended family with 4 little ones. I can definitely say that our kids have molded us into the human beings we are today & we are forever grateful for them. We have been together for 6 years now & got engaged in December of 2019.

How They Asked

My honey decided to take it back to where we had met! Downtown Sacramento! He proposed on December 21st, 2019 at around 10:30 pm, with a perfect view of the city! I was under the impression that we were going to go out to some bars in Sacramento, my sister in law offered to drive with me. Meanwhile, my hubs said he would meet us there because he had some errands to run first. She had mentioned that we were meeting up with her friend at this hotel because they had a room. The Kimpton Sawyer.

We got to the hotel & had some drinks, then decided to head to the room to drop off our stuff. As we walked to the furthest corner room on the top floor I gazed out of the window in the hall thinking how beautiful the city looked all lit up. We got to the room & I opened the door. I instantly heard “latch (acoustic version) “by Sam Smith playing, I said, “omg our song!” That had become our song in 2014 when we had first met. I looked around and there were rose petals everywhere !! My heart skipped a beat, I got closer to the window and my fiancé was on one knee waiting for me. There were roses all over the room, with a light sign lit up on the bed saying “will you marry me” accompanied by a bottle of champagne.

It was so romantic and heartfelt! From the city view where we met, to the song from when we met & all of the details that topped it off! He asked & I said yes! I was in shock & my ring was to die for! I could’ve never in my life imagined a better engagement ring yet alone proposal! I loved every second of it & will forever cherish that night!
