How We Met
After our very first date, I couldn’t help but gush to my closest friends that I just met, “my future husband!” I was that sure of him from that very start. How we met and our first date does fall into the typical humdrum 21st-century love story: swiping right on a dating app and meet for lunch.
While to the outside eye, our lunch may have been pretty typical of that of a first date, to me there was just something about Clayton that just felt so **right**. It didn’t take long for us to become each other’s best friends and smitten in love.
How They Asked
Clayton and I often say that our love language is an adventure. From skydiving to white water rafter, zip-lining, and so many adventures in between–we are most definitely thrill seekers and love to feel the rush with the other by our side. Our engagement was no different. While vacationing in Tennessee, we planned on hiking Mt. Le Conte–the highest lodge hike East of the Mississippi River. About halfway through the hike is a breathtaking view of the Smokey Mountains known as Alum Cave. It was at this scenic overlook, at the most picturesque point that Clayton got down on one knee and promised forever. I could not contain my excitement and jumped in joy as onlookers cheered and I joyously accepted.
