How We Met
Me and Anthony went to high school together, but didn’t start dating till the summer after my senior year. He had asked me on a date and I was very hesitant to go cause I wasn’t sure I wanted to be in a relationship at that time. But he never gave up asking… I think he asked me about ten times to go out on a date. Well I’m glad I finally said yes after the tenth time. I knew after our first date that he was the one. I don’t even know what it was that made me think that but I just knew. In fact on our second date I remember sitting next to him and just looking at him and before I could even think of what I was about to say I said “this may be crazy but I think I’m falling in love with you…” And we’ve been inseparable ever since.

For the past four years Anthony and I would always write each other ‘Open When’ letters. We had letters for our first anniversary together, a letter for when we got into our first fight, or when we were apart from each other cause of school we would read the “open when you miss me” letter. It is a part of our relationship I cherish so much. On March 21 2016 him and I were walking on a beach in Punta Cana with my mom and dad and he handed me my favorite letter of all…”Open when we’re walking on the beach in Punta Cana…I love you.” I knew then that this was the moment I’ve been dreaming of since I was a little girl. I didn’t even read the whole letter I just looked at the bottom of the letter and it said in big bold letters “Shannon Ariel Claire will you marry me?”
