How We Met
Shane and Corinne have been dating for 5 years. She was the cousin of his best friend Ricky Carilli and they met through Ricky. They went on their first date for ice cream and a walk on the beach. Shane knew from the moment they met she was the love of his life, and he wanted to marry her and spend his life with her.
They were instant soulmates. It wasn’t a question of “if” he was going to propose to her but “how.” After planning, Shane realized he was going to use the graduation day of his dream job. What better way to propose than to have 2 beautiful things on the same day?! Shane always had a passion for serving his community and helping people. The FDNY was a dream job for him as he wanted to follow in his father Anthony’s (retired FDNY fireman) foot steps. His father Anthony told him, “do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life,” and his heart pulled him to the FDNY EMT as he pursued his dream job.

After the FDNY graduation ceremony ended, he had orchestrated his fellow classmates from the academy to help him with the proposal by holding up cards that read “CORINNE WILL YOU MARRY ME ?” While Shane and Corinne’s family lined up to take a photo with the Chief of the FDNY EMS and Deputy Commissioner of the FDNY on top of the stage, 22 of his classmates sneakily slid behind the cameras to the very front of the stage, facing outwards with their backs to the photographers holding the signs. Shane grabbed Corinne by the hand and walked her to the front of the stage to reveal what the cards read.
Shane got on one knee and told Corinne, “You have already given me a lifetime of love and happiness, give me the chance to spend the rest of my life trying to give you back the same. Corinne will you marry me?” She said yes!
Shane looks forward to a successful career serving New York City and sharing a life filled with happiness and love with the love his life, his fiancé Corinne.
