How We Met
Shalini and I first met 4.5 years ago at a business course, where I saw her smile and just knew that I had to ask her for her number. We immediately connected and I knew there was something special about our bond. The following 6 months were absolutely amazing as we enjoyed getting to know each other more and discovered our common passion for travel, life experiences and food! This led to the best 4-and-a-half years of our lives – taking on adventures around the world together and working online on our business as we turn our dreams into reality! We cant wait for the rest of our lives together!

I always wanted this to be a surprise and had been planning the perfect proposal with the perfect ring at the perfect time for over a year. We had just returned to Toronto after a 9 month journey exploring Europe and Central America, and was heading to Niagara On The Lake for a few days to celebrate Shalini’s birthday together!
Niagara has always been a special place for us, its where we’ve shared many impactful life experiences and celebrated important times in our relationship! We love wine and our experiences with wine tasting, so I initially wanted to pop the question in a wine cellar, however opted not to as I wasn’t allowed to have a photographer capture the moment there and knew this would be something that Shalini would enjoy later, so I had to find a way to make this possible! It worked out for the better as both of us are very outdoorsy people and enjoyed an evening stroll by the Niagara River! Once I had found the perfect spot with the perfect sunlight, we talked about how much we loved each other; I got down on one knee and asked “Do you want to spend the rest of your life with me?”
Her eyes filled with tears of happiness and excitement as she said “Yes” and hugged me tight! We were pleasantly surprised by a friendly stranger who offered to take a picture of us together; delighted by the moment, we obliged and later discovered her to be our friendly photographer Momo! We were happy to spend the next hour with her and her partner along the Niagara River, capturing the happiness of our special moment, the love of our relationship and the excitement of our future together! We later celebrated with some Port Wine and a delicious dinner overlooking gorgeous fireworks over the Niagara Falls – a perfect ending to this amazing night!
