How We Met
Madison and I officially met six years ago through work, although we had both worked together for over a year before that and never talked to one another. Once we started working more closely together, we began texting and finding ways to make sure we spent our days at work together. After a few weeks, we planned on going to a local concert together, but I got too nervous and backed out at the last minute. Fortunately, this didn’t phase Madison. We set up a movie date (which I didn’t back out of) and the rest is history! After that, we were pretty inseparable and spent almost everyday, all day with each other!
how they asked
For a long time, we had been wanting to visit Colorado, and in June of 2017 we got the chance! With one of our very close friends, we road tripped thirty hours to get there. Once we got there, I immediately felt that this was a very special place, but I wasn’t quite sure why. The first full day of the trip, we decided to go hiking in the Rocky Mountains. Our day was almost derailed after we ate way too much Mexican food for lunch (as we normally do), but we decided to continue on. We hiked up one trail that led us to a beautiful waterfall. After spending some time there, we decided to head down. Before we left, I asked our friend Reagan to take a photo with us by the waterfall.
We were standing there, and I could tell Madison was fidgeting around. As I turned to ask what he was doing, I realized he was on his knee asking me something as well! A little later on in the day, Madison let me know that he hadn’t planned an exact place or time that he was going to propose, he just knew he wanted it to be in the Rockies. As we are a very “go-with-the-flow” kind of couple, I couldn’t have imagined it any other way.
