Josh was living in a different country doing some consulting work at the time, so he got in contact with my best friends of 26 years and started to make plans. He designed my ring with the help of my friends. He asked me to go spend time with his parents during Christmas in Chicago (I know, freezing)! Little did I know my best friends were secretly following us around downtown Chicago, even to show Hamilton. They were literally sitting two rows behind me and I didn’t know. Josh missed his opportunity to propose at the Bean because I had to use the restroom and I was freezing! So he popped his question at a beautiful steakhouse as all my friends surprised me with their presence and of course I burst into tears!
