Sarah and Gyimaah

How We Met

I have always been single and never had a boyfriend. I had tried all the dating apps and always had the worst of luck! I had all but given up on them but one night out, my friends insisting I hang in there. Low and behold that was the night I swiped right on Gyimaah. The conversation was so easy between us and there was something about him that made me feel like I had known him for a long time. When we did finally meet I remember seeing this tall and handsome man walking towards me. I was pinching myself that I was actually going on a date with him! We bonded over our passion for travel and adventure and our nerdy love for spreadsheets and I found out how much of a true gentleman he is. It was only a week, but I already felt like my luck had changed.

How They Asked

I had just gotten a promotion at work and Gyimaah insisted that we go out to a nice restaurant to celebrate. Getting ready he had put on a suit complete with a pocket square which surprised me as to where we were going was nice, but not that nice! When I asked he convinced me that as we hadn’t had a nice date night for a while, so it would be nice if we dressed up for a little fancier then normal. So, with a nicer dress on and my hair curled we started driving to the restaurant. Except, he didn’t park anywhere close to the restaurant. When I asked why he replied mysteriously with “It’s a surprise”. As we walked up to the building, I saw it was a dance studio and I instantly asked “are we going to dance? I don’t want to dance, I am hungry!”. Gyimaah just laughed and asked me to follow him.

Finally, at the dance studio, the door opens to the most breathtaking scenery. At first, I struggled to take it all in, there were two dancers, a harpist, rose petals everywhere, beautiful candlesticks and a smoke machine. It was overwhelming, to say the least. he leads me to some chairs, so I can start to take in the beautiful music and dancing. At the end of the song, one of the dancers made way over to me with a blue envelope.

Where to Propose in Sydney, Australia

I opened it to read Gyimaah asking me to marry him. I was so overwhelmed with everything I don’t even think I said yes, I just nodded my head with tears in my eyes! It was honestly the most breathtaking experience with Gyimaah and the My proposal co. team creating an intimate moment of one of my wishes – to see the ballet.
