How We Met
Corey and I first met on Bumble when he was in town looking for an apartment before starting residency. A month later, he moved to Seattle and we planned to meet up for our first date…keep in mind his mom was still in town since she had just helped him move LOL. From there, the rest is history! We’ve been together for almost 3 years now (our anniversary is June 4) and have a sweet fur baby, Frankie, who is our world.
How They Asked
Corey and I love to travel — we had just returned from a trip to Bali in October and had been planning a big trip to Mexico City in the spring. We scheduled the trip to be in April and during that time, Corey had secretly planned a private hot air balloon ride over the Teotihuacán ruins to pop the question. Of course, because of COVID-19, we had to cancel our trip. Given Corey is a front line worker, he already had his vacation scheduled, so we had to use it or we would essentially lose it — so we took a family road trip to Chelan, WA with our Frankie girl and stayed at a family friend’s winery for the week.
On April 29, we decided to hike the Chelan Butte trail and once we got to a beautiful lookout spot, we sat down and had a picnic. With an incredible view of Lake Chelan and the Columbia River on both sides of us, Corey got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife! It was such a special, private moment that meant, even more, knowing it was in the state where we had met and built our lives together, AND on top of it, had our sweet Frankie girl there with us too.
