Sara and Brady

Where to Propose in The Louisville Slugger Museum

How We Met

Brady and I met when we were in 6th grade and started dating when we were in 7th grade. We went our separate ways for a couple of months and got back together when he was in 8th grade and I was a freshman in high school. We have been completely inseparable since. I always told my friends growing up that I would marry that boy someday. Here we are, 7.5 years later planning a wedding. We are both now 22 and about to graduate college. He is my best friend and I could not imagine my life without him. My middle school sweetheart!

how they asked

Brady has played baseball his whole life and I had always supported him at every game. It was a big part of our relationship. Brady’s mom invited us to go with the family to the Louisville Slugger Museum on February 27, 2016. Of course we went and while I thought it was a normal outing with the family, they were all in on it. His parents had been there all morning setting up making sure everything was in place. We got to the museum, went through the whole tour and ended the tour at the gift shop. Walking around looking at the gifts and souvenirs, I found my way to the “bat wall” where many custom bats laid. I saw a baseball bat that caught my eye. It was engraved with, “Sara Elizabeth, will you marry me?”

I was super confused at first and it didn’t really register in my mind until I turned around and saw Brady there on one knee. I don’t remember the details after that because I was in shock! After I calmed down we walked outside and he had my best friend waiting for me with flowers. Then we all went out to eat on the river where my entire family was waiting on us. It was truly the best night of my life this far and I cannot wait to marry the man of my dreams this summer!
