How We Met
Eric and I met at the College of DuPage in the Spring of 2014 when we both were in the same computer class. One day, I came to class a bit early and Eric ended up being there at the exact same time. We talked for a bit and got to know each other that day. By the end of the semester, Eric got the courage to ask me to a movie. We ended up seeing Noah, a few days later and to this day, we still have those movie tickets and have been inseparable ever since.
How They Asked
Eric and I traveled to Madison, WI to celebrate NYE with our good friends, Anna and David. Little did I know that they were in on this whole engagement thing.
Anna and David on New Year’s Day took us to downtown Madison to give us the Madison experience. We decided to go ice skating at The Edgewater Ice Rink. We got a bit hungry after ice skating and headed to the Great Dane Pub to enjoy a Wisconsin staple, cheese curds. We ended talking about the Capital at Lunch and headed there after. As we were walking around the Capital, the sun began to set. Eric and I were a bit behind Anna and David. Eric, turned and looked at me, and said, ‘I have something for you and I have been trying to give it to you for the past few days.’
And I ended up starting to tear up and walking in the other direction with disbelief because I knew exactly what he was talking about. We’ve been together for 5.5 years. We’ve talked about getting married and our futures for awhile. And at that moment, he got down on one knee and said, ‘This has been a long time coming and I kinda forgot everything I was going to say but, will you marry me, Sara?’ I, with no hesitation, said ‘Yes!!
