Sara and Adam

Where to Propose in Vernon Boardwalk in Vernon, NY

How We Met

Adam and Sara have always known each other’s families through the local P.A.L (Police Athletic League). Sara’s father coached Adam and his brother Matthew along with Sara’s brother Alex in basketball from a young age. It wasn’t until 2010 when Adam was in college and Sara was in her senior year of high school that they officially met over Facebook. The rest is history!

How They Asked

Adam and Sara have always known each other’s families through the local P.A.L (Police Athletic League). Sara’s father coached Adam and his brother Matthew along with Sara’s brother Alex in basketball from a young age. It wasn’t until 2010 when Adam was in college and Sara was in her senior year of high school that they officially met over Facebook. After 6 1/2 years, I decided that it was time to let the world know that we were going to be together forever. With the help of Sara’s friends, Dylan, Amanda, and Jess, I worked out a date and location that would work best for the proposal. A few months ago I decided that July 15th I would plan out a fun day for Sara to celebrate her birthday since her birthday fell on a Wednesday. I picked out a ring, a location, and set up plans with her friends to make it work out well.

A few weeks before the day Sara decided she wanted to plan out her day which threw all of my plans off. She decided that we would go to the Warwick Winery in the early afternoon to meet our friends. Now I had to figure out how I could change my plans around without her getting curious. Sara’s friend Jess was able to help me out by suggesting a hike on the Vernon Boardwalk in the morning before we went to the winery.

Engagement Proposal Ideas in Vernon Boardwalk in Vernon, NY

This is a hike we have done before but was cut short due to snake sightings. At the end of the trail, there is a nice bridge that I knew would be the perfect spot to pop the question. The plan would be that when we got to the bridge Jess would suggest we take pictures and I would turn and ask while doing so, and that is exactly how it went down. After a lot of crying and disbelief, she said yes and we carefully got the ring on her finger.
