Sandy and Josh

How We Met

Josh and I met back in 2011 at the Disney College Program. He’s from Costa Rica and I’m from Mexico. We were both training in the same area, but the way we most saw each other was because I had two roommates from Costa Rica, and they’d hang out very often. We each had our love stories, and never thought we’d end up together.

how they asked

We had tickets for the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party on our arrival day, so we had planned to quickly go to our rooms and change for the event. My cousin “noticed and invitation laying on the bed” which said we were all invited to the Hallowishes Fireworks Dessert Party that night. I was in shock and SO excited, that I couldn’t believe we had been ”randomly” chosen out of thousands of people (but of course, it was all part of the plan).

So we headed to the park to be on time for the event, but the first thing I wanted to do was to buy my Rose Gold Ears (just in time for Josh to go to the Tomorrowland Terrace and give them a heads up about the fake invitation). We were given a table with a perfect view for the fireworks, a lot of pastries to choose from and drinks. Since it was still early for the show to begin, we decided to go and take some pictures with characters and ride Space Mountain. It was almost time, so we went back to our table and began watching the show.

After a while, Josh started asking me if I was having a good time and if there was anything missing to make it the best day of my life. Of course, I said no, I was at the happiest place on earth with him, my favorite place in the world, so everything was already beyond perfect. He suddenly got down on one knee and said, ”sure?” I was speechless and I couldn’t believe my eyes. I had my fairytale and my prince, my dream come true. I cried my eyes out of happiness, and without a doubt, I said YES!

After the proposal, we headed to a reserved seating area to watch the Boo-To-You Halloween Parade, the best first-row view ever. I didn’t want to go back to the hotel, because I was living a fairytale. But to my surprise, I had a gift waiting for me at the room.

It turned out Josh had been planning this for over a month. He got in touch with friends back at Walt Disney World, and they helped him arrange every step of the way towards our perfectly happily ever after.
