How We Met
I first met Tommy in 2010 when we were both in Mr. Master’s 8th grade English class. He sat behind me, which is where our friendship started. We started to get to know each other and became young friends. We would tease each other, which was our way of flirting, but nothing serious ever came of it. We both were shy and never had the courage to tell the other about our feelings.
Fast forward to junior year at Bedford High School where we had another class together and he sat behind me. We reconnected and became close friends again. This is when things started to become real and we finally told each other about our feelings for one another. He asked me to be his girlfriend on February 19, 2015, and we’ve been together ever since.
How They Asked
Originally we were supposed to relocate for Tommy’s job after college. This was something we were both nervous about because it was the first time we would be leaving our families and hometown. A week before graduation we got the news that a position had opened for his company located close to home. We were very happy about not having to move. He planned a night out in downtown Toledo with family and friends to celebrate our college graduations and the good news of staying home. During the holiday season, the streets are decorated with Christmas lights, which is something I love. We were taking pictures one minute, and then he was on one knee asking me to be his wife. Of course, I said yes!
