How We Met
We met in college through a mutual friend. After a bad breakup I joined a sorority and agreed to go to a fraternity date function with a good friend of mine. At the party my friend that took me as his date for the night wound up making out with another girl (which was fine as I wasn’t interested in actually dating this guy either), when Matt found out about this he asked his friend (my date) if he could have a shot at talking to me for the reminder of the evening. We have been inseparable ever since!

He had been planning this for weeks with my sister, my mom and my dad. We had planned to return to my hometown (Huntington Station, NY) for Thanksgiving. My mom was hosting and my entire family was going to be there. My uncle flew in from out of town and surprised us all. The day was filled with good food, drinks, love and laughter. After dinner I was helping my mom clean up the kitchen waiting for a few more guests to arrive for dessert, then my dad walked in the door. My parents have been divorced for 17 years and he has never come over for a holiday so I knew something was up. I was called into the dining room to help my mom get some extra plates for dessert and when I turned around there is Matt down on one knee proposing!! I couldn’t have asked for a more magical moment. My entire family surrounded us taking photos/videos and crying tears of joy experiencing one of the best moments of my life!
